The World is Always Changing

One thing that remains constant is change. Nothing stands still in life and if you think about technology the change can make your head spin. Some change is good, some change is bad, and some change is just change.

What I know will change is the way social networks are utilized. Facebook will become a place people peruse as will Twitter just to stay “connected” with interesting or trending stories. The need to post and let others know what we’re doing is getting old fast. My kids have already reduced their Facebook footprint by 75%. I peruse but have lost interest in posting because I really don’t think people care much about what I do or think. Most of the time I don’t care if you are at Dunkin Donuts getting a coffee or having lunch with someone I don’t know.

The “experts” of social media are talking to the same people. They have too much time on their hands and most are simply self-promoting their service or consulting practice. I often wonder what they could be producing if they weren’t producing tweets. If all you do is produce tweets how do you stay an “expert” except in tweeting?

In the end it will be human face to face interaction that will change the world. Yes, there are apps and technology that makes connecting easier but too much information is simply too much information.

I think change is in the air and people are looking for more meaningful interactions. We will see many abandoned websites, blogs, twitter and facebook accounts littering the internet. Heck we already are.

You know what they say: everything gets its 15 minutes… Remember to look up from that phone and say hello to someone. It is a change you might find refreshing…

Why Are There Poor People in America?

A lack of incentive: no matter how bad your behavior, the federal government will step in and give you everything you need to live.

Culture: there is a lack of will to shame people for failure. Allowing people to blame others for their own failures is rampant. A lack of faith in God.

Education: The lack of accountability in education (mostly public inner city education) has perpetuated ignorance and unemployment.

Political correctness: Looking the other way and making excuses for groups of people have left them in the squalor of poverty and limited opportunity.

Attack on Capitalism: Capitalism is the greatest economic system in the world. It has been attacked and has too many people willing to let the attacks stand no matter they are lies. Class warfare is evil and must be stopped. It lays the foundation for excuses and envy.

To fix poverty all we need to tap is the survival mechanism. If you don’t work you don’t eat. If you don’t go to school you don’t become a ward of the state. If you don’t like it leave.

It will take less than a generation to change the future of millions of Americans. It is not harsh or mean it is simply teaching a man to fish.
