With all of this fiscal cliff discussion and the importance of fiscal responsibility I picked a couple of quotes I offered my Teenagers that the congress might want to apply...
"The government has no heart and is destructive to freedom, hope, and
the opportunity of every individual it attempts to help." (pg 20)
"You need to understand the path of least resistance is a crowded path
with many people following it to nowhere." (pg 15)
"Capitalism is based on competition, and has allowed for the reduction
of poverty, increased charity, and unprecedented wealth for the largest
My son Taylor shared this video with me and it is very compelling.
I have dealt with this subject in my books and it is really a great way to
figure out what a “successful” life means to you. Success in life can only be
determined by each of us as individuals.
We have all seen very “rich” people that are miserable and
very “poor” people that are happy. Money in the end doesn’t define happiness.
It does however provide for the sustenance needed to survive in the world. So
you can’t discount money completely but we must find the things we are
passionate about and try to follow our dreams.
In my book the “Teenager’s Guide…” (click on the image to
the right to buy on amazon) I discuss the importance of understanding early in
life what makes you happy and then try to find a career that aligns with that
passion. Even if you don’t make a million dollars you may still find yourself “rich”
at the end of your life.
There is a world of opportunity open to everyone willing to
follow their dreams!
I wrote my fourth book which I caled "The Shortest But Most Effective Book To Improve Customer Experience Delivery" and it is a boiled down remedy to apply good management principles. The perspective I take is that all levels of the organization must be in alignment when it comes to service delivery.
I could have written 250 pages but to be successful it would boil down to the few pages I have published in this new book. It is available on Amazon in both print and Kindle editions.
My family spends time in the Adirondacks hiking, reading, and talking. There is no phone/wifi service there. It is good for the soul to find your place and disconnect. It is very soothing for the soul!
I am tired of watching too many of our youth not being given the tools to succeed in life. It is not just formal education but practical experience that leads to success.
I am on a mission to spread the word to all that want to listen.
I have outlined my views in my most recent book. I would love to speak to your group about how we all can be successful but success will be defined only by you as an individual.
Success comes in many shapes and sizes. Your success will be defined and acheived only when you are ready to take on the task of setting goals. They don't have to be complex only realistic to your skills and abilities.
Get going now! I would love to help if you need it. If not I wish you success in achieving success!
